Richard started Byerly & Associates as a part-time business in 2009 and took it full-time in 2011. He received his BA of Accounting from University of Texas at Arlington in 1982 and his CPA in 1990. He has 27 years of experience in healthcare finance, an additional 5 years in cost accounting in the manufacturing industry and has been doing tax preparation since 1988. At Byerly & Associates, he prepares client's tax returns and assists clients with tax planning. In his free time he enjoys golfing and attending sporting events.
Karla graduated from Auburn University in 1993 with a degree in Accounting and has been working as an accountant ever since. She has worked with several different accounting software programs and payroll systems over the years. She joined our team in 2011 and is committed to serving our clients according to their individual needs. Karla also enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, gardening, hiking, and playing clarinet in her church orchestra.
Katrina joined us in October 2015 as an accounting and IT specialist. Her background is in geophysics but she has proven herself to be very capable in meeting our IT needs, along with handling the accounting for our chiropractor clients. In July 2018, she received her Enrolled Agent (EA) designation (an EA is a federally-authorized tax practitioner who has technical expertise in the field of taxation and who is empowered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to represent taxpayers before all administrative levels of the IRS for audits, collections, and appeals). When she's not working she likes hiking, camping, and having fun with her little girl.
Brittany was born in Bethesda, MD and grew up a military brat living all over the country. She came to Auburn in 2008 to attend Auburn University and graduated with an English degree. To advance her career she went back to school to pursue an education in accounting at Troy University; and earned her bachelor's degree in Managerial Accounting. She joined our team in 2017 as a staff accountant and specializes in managing the accounts of our chiropractic clients. She occasionally serves as the office editor. In her spare time, she enjoys time outside with her husband and daughter (she also likes spending time with them inside), reading/writing and making people laugh.
Tracy works part time as the onboarding specialist. She received her BS in Accounting in 1993 from Auburn University. Tracy worked for a local doctor’s office as a bookkeeper for 7 years and after that was a stay at home mom for 12 years. She joined the Byerly team in February of 2017. Tracy is married to John and has two children. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with family.
Holly joined us in May of 2018 as a bookkeeper. She received her BS of Accounting from Auburn University in 1997. Holly began her career working for Colonial Broadcasting and later Franklin Templeton. After a brief career change as a high school mathematics teacher, she returned to the accounting field for a construction company for the past 7 years before joining Byerly & Associates. Holly is married to Scott and has 2 children, Maddox and Macoy.
Stacie joined us in May of 2018 as a bookkeeper. She received her bachelor's degree in elementary education from Auburn University. She taught 5th grade English before her children were born and then stayed home with them until opening and operating her own business for 11 years in Downtown Opelika. Stacie is married to Lonnie and has two children in college. She enjoys traveling as often as possible, hiking, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
Katie joined Byerly & Associates in April 2021. She graduated Missouri State University in 2016 with her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. She has experience in Wealth Management and Estate Planning along with bookkeeping, payroll, taxes, and business consultations. She has fulfilled her education requirement to become a Certified Financial Planner professional and will be taking her big exam soon. Katie enjoys being involved in her community and helping others meet their goals. She also enjoys cooking, hiking, camping, fishing and reading a good book.
Julia joined our team in July 2020 as our Administrative Assistant. While she had several years of experience in administration, customer service, and hospitality prior to joining the Byerly & Associates team, Julia has spent most of her work background in ministry and Christian missions. In 2016, she volunteered on a missions base in Hawaii, and in 2017, she graduated from a ministry internship with the International House of Prayer Atlanta. Before moving to Auburn, she had worked at a missions non-profit for 2 years and led a ministry among the international refugees in Clarkston, GA. When she isn’t behind the front desk in the office, Julia enjoys road-trips, exploring new places with her lab puppy, serving her community, and hosting friends in her home.
